Worried about losing your home?

housing

Our housing team can advise you if your landlord is threatening to repossess your home. Our aim is to prevent you becoming homeless either by negotiating an agreed payment plan with the landlord, suspending possession proceedings at the county court (usually by making an offer the Judge thinks is reasonable) or by supporting you to find alternative accommodation.

If you have left it to the last minute, don't worry. We offer a helpdesk at the county court on possession days where we can advise you right up to the time of the hearing and attend the court with you if necessary. We also regularly attend eviction hearings.

We offer advice and representation on the following:

  • Rent & Mortgage arrears
  • Section 21 possession procedure
  • Landlord & Tenant issues
  • Disrepair
  • Homelessness & Allocations
  • Harassment & Illegal eviction
  • Relationship breakdown & Housing

If you need this help please call into any of our offices or call our generalist adviceline.

Our service is funded by the Legal Services Commission and Stoke-on-Trent City Council.
