Universal Credit Workshop

If you are of working age and live in Stoke-on-Trent from 13th June 2018 if you make a new benefit claim it will be for Universal Credit instead of:

  • Income Support
  • Income-based (means-tested) Job-seekers Allowance
  • Income-related Employment and Support Allowance
  • Working Tax Credit
  • Child Tax Credit,
  • Housing Benefit

Some changes of circumstances lead to new claims.

For example, you might be expecting your first child, separating from or moving in with your partner, moving from another Council area, going back to work after unemployment or sickness, or looking for work after being found fit for work or because your youngest child is starting school

If you are not making a new claim and your circumstances don’t change, your benefits will not change over to Universal Credit until 2019 or later.
